Installing Oracle IdM 11g on Enterprise Linux

I was setting up a new virtual machine today (OEL on VirtualBox natch) to run OIF and realized how much better the installation process for 11g has gotten.

I installed a bunch of stuff:
Each of these components has its own set of prerequisites that can be a bit of a pain to get done on your own. But since everyone else has the same set of problems you know someone had to automate it all.

If you are installing on OEL 5 you should use the the Oracle public YUM server at http://public-yum.oracle.com/. Follow the instructions there, then just run "yum install oracle-validated". The oracle-validated package handles all of the dependencies for Oracle Database including tweaking your kernel configuration settings!

Then you "just" have to run the RCU, install WebLogic and OIF.
